Squeaky, salty halloumi with a golden crunch. No oil bath, no fuss.

Your silicone liner stops the coating catching on the tray, so every bite comes out crisp, not stuck.

Ingredients

  • 225g (8 oz) block halloumi, cut into cubes
  • 3 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 60g (2 oz) panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh chilli or honey, to serve (optional)

Steps

  1. Prep the halloumi: Cut the block into bite-sized cubes and pat dry.

  2. Set up your coating station: Flour in one bowl, beaten egg in the second, panko mixed with paprika and pepper in the third.

  3. Coat: Dip each cube in flour, then egg, then panko, pressing gently so it sticks.

  4. Arrange: Place coated cubes in a single layer on your air fryer liner, don't overlap.

  5. Air fry: Cook at 200°C (390°F) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.

  6. Serve: Serve hot with a drizzle of honey or a scatter of fresh chilli.
