Sweet potatoes get sliced into fries, tossed in paprika and garlic powder, then air fried until golden and properly crisp, no deep fryer required.
A Kitchen Curated liner sits in the basket so the paprika oil doesn't bake on, making clean-up a wipe rather than a scrub.
Ready in under 30 minutes, and just as good with regular potatoes if that's what you've got.
Ingredients
-
2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries (leave the skin on for extra texture, if you prefer)
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
½ tsp paprika
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
Steps
-
Prep the fries. Peel the sweet potatoes, or leave the skin on for extra texture, and cut into even fries, about ¼ inch thick.
-
Season. Toss the fries with the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper until evenly coated.
-
Line the basket. Place an air fryer liner in the basket, it's designed to fit and makes clean-up easier.
-
Arrange the fries. Lay the fries in a single layer, leaving room for air to circulate. Cook in batches if needed.
-
Air fry. Cook at 200°C/400°F for 15 to 18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Serve. Once golden and crispy, let cool for a minute, then serve with your dipping sauce of choice.

Recipe Tips
-
Cut the fries evenly so they cook at the same rate.
-
Don't overcrowd the basket, cook in batches for the crispiest result.
-
Shake the basket halfway through so the fries crisp up on all sides.
Variations to Try
-
Classic potato fries: swap the sweet potato for regular potatoes, same method
-
Zucchini fries: for a lower carb option, coat in a little almond flour or panko before air frying.
-
Curly fries: spiralise the potatoes for a fun, crispy twist.
