A proper cheesy pasta bake, minus the oven and minus the baking dish soaking in the sink all evening.
Cooked pasta, shredded chicken, broccoli and a quick cheese sauce go straight into a Kitchen Curated silicone liner. Eighteen minutes later it comes out bubbling and golden on top, with the sauce held exactly where you put it.
Use a rotisserie chicken and it is a ten minute job. Make double and tomorrow's lunch is already sorted.
Ingredients
- 300g pasta, cooked and drained (use gluten free pasta if you need it)
- 350g cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie works perfectly)
- 200g broccoli florets, steamed until just tender
- 25g butter
- 25g plain flour (cornflour if going gluten free)
- 300ml whole milk
- 150g mature cheddar, grated, divided
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Steps
-
Preheat: Get your air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
-
Line the basket: Pop a Kitchen Curated silicone liner straight into the air fryer basket.
-
Make the sauce: Melt the butter in a pan, stir in the flour and cook for a minute. Add the milk a splash at a time, whisking until smooth and thickened. Take it off the heat and stir in the mustard and two thirds of the cheese.
-
Combine: Fold the pasta, chicken and broccoli through the sauce. Season well, it needs more salt than you think.
-
Fill and cook: Tip the lot into the liner, level the top and air fry for 12 minutes.
-
Top and finish: Scatter over the remaining cheese and cook for another 3 to 6 minutes until bubbling and golden.
- Rest and serve: Give it 5 minutes to settle, then lift the whole liner out and serve straight from it.
